About Us
The Student Public Relations Association (SPRA) is open to students from all majors at William Paterson University. Our mission is to raise awareness of the multi-dimensional uses and benefits of public relations skills to virtually all industries and interest areas. The Association works to educate the WP community about the advantages of effective integrated marketing communication, social media, strategic communication, and public relations.
Our Initiatives
Members of the SPRA share and build professional skills through workshops, webinars, networking, career and internship events, alumni mentoring, field trips to NYC, and writing content for our social media platforms and the web based Power PR Report. As a benefit to all WP students and alumni, SPRA recently formed a collaborative partnership with WP's Career Center to expland our most popular campus -wide annual initiatives:
SMART Lab
The club joined forces with our BA in Public Relations program faculty and the Social Media Applications, Research, Teaching (SMART) Lab team to streamline our guest speaker visits via the newly rebranded:
PROfessional SMART Workshop & Seminar Series
Our Goals
The SPRA helps clubs and organizations both on and off campus by providing guidance for strategic integrated marketing communication planning. The club has supported cause-related initiatives like voter registration, career development, stress & mental health awareness, Toys for Tots, the Special Olympics of New Jersey.
Our goal is to serve the WP community by creating and implementing real integrated marketing communication campaigns. The Association is available to create public relations programs for select causes and issues of interest to the University community.
